Ghana FA president Kurt Okraku wants gov’t to renovate Gyandu Park

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has suggested to government to also consider the Gyandu Park as part of its facilities to be renovated across the country.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) is undertaking an exercise to renovate the various venues across the country as part of Ghana’s  preparations towards the 2023 All  Africa Games.

Work is currently on-going at both the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and the Essipong Sports Stadium.

The GFA President during a live discussion on Happy FM pleaded with MOYS to add Gyandu Park to the selected venues up for renovation.

“Honorable, please let’s add Gyandu Park, it’s on our hearts so kindly add that one too. We can fix it without necessarily expanding it.”

Kurt Okraku was in a discussion with GOC President, Ben Nunoo Mensah, deputy minister of sports, Perry Okudzeto as they discussed the Effects of Coronavirus on Ghana’s Sports industry.

Gyandu Park is a multi-use stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana. The stadium holds 15,000 spectators. It was renovated in 2008 and served as a training pitch for the African Cup teams in Group B.
