REVEALED :Sports Ministry against ‘early resumption’ of Ghana Premier League
It has been revealed that the Ghana Football Association has sent a proposal to the government, seeking exemptions to the restrictions rules for football to the return.
The government has confirmed that it is considering the proposal and will meet in the coming days on FA’s proposal.
On Thursday , the President of the FA, Kurt Okraku said that his outfit will be sending a wrong message to the corporate world if they decide to scrap the 2019/2020 season.
“If there is no football, you don’t expect your sponsors to continue dolling out money to the clubs because they are not charities and even charities require a certain form of visibility. You have to also look at the partnership that currently exists at the FA level and the loss of revenue due to this situation.”
But in an interview with Metro TV , Kofi Asare Brako who is the spokesperson for the minister remarked that an early return of the GPL is seen as unacceptable in the eyes of the Isaac Asiamah as well as the ministry .
In real facts the ministry don’t supports the early resumption of the Ghana Premier league due to the coronavirus pandemic where Ghana has so far recorded 5,688 cases with 28 deaths.
