Emmanuel Keyekeh wants Ghana Football Season Cancelled

Karela United sensational midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh says the 2019/20 season should be cancelled, insisting that it’s not safe to play football in the current circumstances of the outbreak.
Ghana football has been put on hold due to the Coronavirus Pandemic with a return date uncertain.

Considering the prevailing circumstances, several football opinion leaders including King Faisal owner Alhaji Gruzah and Proud United boss Jojo Duncan have adviced the GFA to scrap the season and start a new one when situation normalizes.

With the GFA mulling over the next step to take as regards to the suspended season, Keyekeh has revealed that Ghana is not well prepared and equiped to continue the season .

The face of Karela United team has however called on goverment to step in to decline any move to resume playing football until everything is back to normal.

Keyekeh said ” in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak in Ghana, I think we can stop the league ,because our cases keep going up every second,some of the Journalists will say am preaching this because we are struggling to survive in the league “but life is precious ,we should consider life first ” he told West End Radio

” Some of us are also saying Germany has resumed their league so we should follow suit, Germans are different from us “he added.

The Ghana premier league has been at a standstill since March 15,following a ban on all public gatherings as part of measures to combat the spread of the disease.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) said it will wait until at least June 30 to make a decision.

The premier league was at it’s match week 15 stage when it was brought to a halt.
