Okwawu United to rebrand, make club attractive again

The secretary of Division Two side, Okwawu United, Mr Prince Asare Amoako, says officials of the former Premiership side feel devastated as the club celebrates its 45th birthday in the lower rungs of Ghana football.

Once vibrant traditional club, Okwawu won the FA Cup in 1986 and played in the final of the 2017 MTN FA Cup,but they have struggling to return to the Premier League for more than a decade.

The club suffered demotion from Division One in April 2007 for playing a suspected fix match against Nania FC in a Division one Middle league encounter which ended 31-0 in favour of the latter.

In an interview with Daily Graphic, Mr Amoako said the Okwahu was currently undergoing rebranding to let the world know it still existed and to make them vibrant again

“That is why we are using the 45th anniversary to announce our presence as we work hard to correct the wrongs,” he explained.
