Coronavirus: Former Ghalca boss Alhaji Raji advises Ghana FA to cancel the season
Former Ghana league club Association (GHALCA)chairman, Alhaji Raji shares his thoughts on the future of the domestic season amid the Covid-19 crisis.
The former Boss wants the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to focus on securing a headline sponsor for the Premier League during the football downtime instead of ambitions to bring back the suspended championship.
All domestic competitions have been on hold since a national ban on public gatherings, including sporting and religious events came into effect as part of measures to curb the spread of the deadly disease.
The Premier League league’s last headline sponsor was Xylofon Media who saw their partnership scuppered by a 2018 GFA corruption scandal.
“We shouldn’t rush to resume the league but rather focus on the future of the league and it’s sponsors”
The championship was at the matchweek 15 stage – with
Aduana Stars leading the table – when the competition was brought to a halt.
The Ghana FA will decide the future of the league after June 30.
