Starlet 95: Determination was the key to our success – Bashiru Gambo
Former Ghana Black Starlet Midfielder Bashiru Gambo has attributed “Starlet 95 world cup” success to hard work and determination.
According to the experienced footballer and a member of the Ghana’s 95 team believes hard work and determination combining with the dedication of the technical brilliance is the reasons for the Ghana’s success during the 1995 FIFA U-17 world cup held in Equador.
Ghana won it’s second world U-17 title having defeated Japan in the finals.
Gambo, who was one of the integral members of the team revealed this in an interview with GTV sports plus on Monday.
“There’s no magic anywhere, it’s hard work, determination and more importantly our technical staffs which has paid off in our recent success,” he told GTV.
“We were determined from the start to the end ” he added.
As part of Ghana’s 25th anniversary since the Starlet won the FIFA U-17 cup, your biggest Nzema sports leading website paid homage to players who made the history in 1995.
The West Africa nation became the world champions through the toil of young players captained by Emmnauel Bentil, Patrick Allotey, Christian Sarbah, Attakora Amaniapong, Baba sule, Awudu Isaka , Charles Allotey, Christian Atta Gyan, Stephen Appiah ,Raymond Fenny and co.
Bashiru Gambo is currently the head coach for German lower division youth side.
