Football ban lifted by Nana Addo-Set to return next month

The president of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has eased the restrictions on all football related activities imposed six months ago due to the novel coronavirus.

With the COVID-19 pandemic putting the world in fear and making lives of humans unstable, most life activities had to stop, from businesses and football activities.

The virus spread easily when one gets in contact with others if any is affected by it. Therefore, there had to be distancing in daily activities, hence football, the world’s biggest sports had to stop just like most contact sports.

Football and contact sports in Ghana had to stop too, national football activities and club activities, there wasn’t any competitions on the African continent as well.

After a whole lot of address by the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo, football loving fans always hoped the government was going to lift the restrictions on contact sports, especially football in Ghana but had to wait until the President’s 17th update on the measures taken on the novel COVID-19 before the restriction will be lifted.

Finally, football is resuming on 30th October, i.e Ghana Premier League,Women football and Division One. And with the measures, stadias will take 25℅ of the capacity of the various stadias with the wearing of face mask being mandatory.
