The untold history about Karela’s CAM Park ahead of Dreams Fc game.
Ahead of Sunday’s Ghana Premier League game between Karela United and Dreams Fc, Samuel Enyan, the Ex Karela United Public Relations Officer has compiled all the facts, trivia and statistics of the famous ground since it’s construction and in-depth analysis from 2016 to 2020, four years down the line.
The late Senator David Brigidi assured the Nzemaland of Division one League football and Ghana Premier league slots as he embarked his ambitions to bring the old game to the good people of Nzema.
On September 21, 2015, he made an announcement that Karela United will adopt Nzema Aiyinase as it’s home venue for the 2015/16 National Division One League Season.
He quickly injected over Ghc 100,000 ( $170.000) USD for the renovations work to begin at the old Aiyinase Methodist School Park.
On November 21st 2015, The inspection committee of the Ghana Football Association inspected the facility and approved it as well to be used during the upcoming season.
“ I was there my self with my late sports producer “ Bendorf Asmah ( RIP) man” I was sacked and i received a lot of backlash from the then CEO of the club Lawrence Cudjoe and the Inspection board chairman Kofi Manu for invading their privacy” Enyan revealed.

On Sunday 7th February, 2016, Karela United officially opened the stadium in a friendly game against Hasacaas where the Passioners won on that fruitful day.
The first goal was scored by the late Prince Appiah of blessed memory.
Karela United have engaged themselves in over 103 games since the stadium was renovated and had its name as Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
Out of 103 games, Karela has won 93 games, 8 draws and 2 technical defeats to Medeama SC and Nzema Kotoko.
To break it down Karela have gone undefeated at home in 49 league games since 2016. They have won 47 and 2 draws against Eleven Wonders and Elmina Sharks all in the 2018 truncated League.
Bear in mind, the first league game played at the CAM Park was the regional derby against Eleven Wise were the passioners won 1:0 on 28th February 2016 during the 2015/16 National Division One League Season.
It will be 50th league game at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park this Sunday as Karela United host Dreams FC In week 3 of the Ghana Premier League.
