WAFU U-20 Championship: Black Satellites progress to semis after victory over Nigeria
The Black Satellites of Ghana have progressed to the semis of the WAFU Zone B U-20 championship after narrowly defeating rivals Nigeria.
Forward Precious Noah’s beautiful freekick from the edge of the box earned Ghana victory with ten minutes left.
The Black Satellites came close to netting the opener halfway through the first half when Dreams FC midfielder Mohammed Sulleyman’s feeble effort was grabbbed by the Nigeria goalkeeper.
Captain Daniel Afriyie who looked totally out of the game had his own opportunities which he failed to take.
But the tides turned in the second half as the Nigerians poured in with waves and waves of attack, but brilliant defending from the Black Satellites kept them at bay.
Goalkeeper Ibrahim Dan Lad was also up for the task making some brilliant saves to keep Ghana in the game.
