13 Minutes Stoppage time at Karela Park breaks Ghana football record

Ghana Premier League side Karela United won against Medeama SC in an interesting week 11 fixture on Sunday at the fortress Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

The Aiyinase-based side won the match 2-0 in the match that saw 13 minutes of stoppage time. The match makes history as the longest stoppage time in the ongoing 2020/21 Ghana Football Season.

 

The match saw 13 minutes 2 seconds added after several injuries  sustained by Medeama’s goalkeeper Frank Boateng which took a lot of time during normal playtime.

The match between Karela United and Medeama was delayed three times due to Frank Boateng’s multiple injuries in the 1st minute and second on the 6th minutes of the game.

The previous record of stoppage time was 6 minutes 3seconds.
