Thomas Partey command in Arsenal midfield as Gunners record 3-1 win against Olympiacos
Ghana international Thomas Partey was in action for Arsenal on Thursday night when the team defeated Olympiacos 3-1 in the Uefa Europa League.
The English Premier League club today locked horns with the side from Greece at the Karaiskaki Stadium to chase a win in the first leg of the tie in the Round of 16 of the competition.
Although not at his best after recovering from a recent injury, Thomas Partey earned a starting role and excelled in the midfield of Arsenal.
In the 34th minute when Martin Odegaard scored to shoot Arsenal into the lead, the midfielder was involved and went on to play 55 minutes of the game before making way for Dani Ceballos.
Although Youssef El Arabi scored in the 58th minute to draw level for Olympiacos, goals from Gabriel and Mohammed Elneny ensured that Arsenal won by three goals to one at the end of the match.
