GOOD NEWS: Referee Charles Bulu back to normalcy after collapsing during AFCON qualifier

The Ghanaian was stretchered off with 10 minutes left to play after feeling unwell towards the end of the game.

He collapsed after being helped by players to get medical attention at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan.

Bulu, 34 – who has been an international referee since 2019 – fell to the playing turf after showing signs of unease.

The official was promoted to the top job after the referee who was originally given the game tested positive for Covid-19.

However, the fourth official who took Bulu’s place was unable to take charge for the remainder of the match because he is Ivorian – and could have been accused of bias towards the hosts.
