Mamelodi  Sundowns keen on $834,000 Moroccan Star

Mamelodi Sundowns have enquired over the services of SCC Mohammédia defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil over a potential R12.5-million transfer.

The left-footed Morocco centre-back, 22, recently signed a permanent deal with the Botola Pro League side after a standout campaign on loan from Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

With Sundowns notably casting their scouting network to North Africa with their recent pursuit of Atlas Lions striker Karim El Berkaoui, Boutouil is said to have been spotted after helping his country win the 2020 African Nations Championship.

As first reported by Benjamin Hajji of Maghrib Foot, the defender who was selected in the CHAN Team of the Tournament has become subject of interest from Masandawana as they are said to be ready to fork out €750,000 (R12.7-million) for his signature.

However, KickOff.com understands that the player may have some reservations about uprooting his life once again for a move to the DStv Premiership champions.
