Medeama President denies Karela United’s allegations
The president of Medeama Sporting Club, Mr Moses Armah, is upset about the justification of rowdyism by Karela United which resulted in the injury of players and damage to the visiting team’s bus after last Sunday’s Premier League match in Aiyinase.
Reacting to the defence of the CEO of Karela United, Mr Elloeny Amande, which was carried in the Daily Graphic yesterday, Mr Armah, aka Mospacka, denied the assertion that Medeama supporters attacked their opponents when they recently visited Tarkwa for a league match.
“It is not true that Medeama supporters attacked Karela when they came to Tarkwa. Nothing of the sort happened; it’s just a mere fabrication meant to justify the violence of their supporters in Aiyinase on Sunday”.
According to him, the only incident that happened when Karela United went to Tarkwa was when some military officers on duty ensured that some supporters of the visiting team who had joined the team bus ostensibly to avoid buying tickets at the gate were dropped before the bus entered the stadium.
“The only incident that happened that day was when I was called upon to witness an incident whereby some supporters of Karela who had joined the team bus to avoid buying tickets were compelled to alight from the bus.
“I was present when the military officers ensured that those fans got down from the bus before it entered the stadium. Apart from that, nothing happened again before, during and after the match,” he insisted
