Ex-Black Stars midfielder Anthony Annan reveals why he snubbed kotoko for Hearts

Former Ghana Black Stars midfielder Anthony Annan, has disclosed that he joined Hearts of Oak because of a certain journalist who convinced him to join Hearts of Oak instead.

According to Annan, he was supposed to join Kotoko but the deal was later blocked by his ex-Management member and then Sports journalist Eric Kwesi Essel.

“My move from Hasaacas was to join Asante Kotoko but Heart of Oak came in and was called to come to Accra.

“I went to Accra with Kwesi Essel who was a member of Hasaacas and a Journalist to finalized the deal to Heart of Oak” he revealed this in an interview with Takoradi-based Skyy Power FM.

Anthony Annan had an excellent seasons with Hearts of Oak, was an integral member of the Ghana Black Stars team during the 2008, 2010 and 2012 AFCON.

He played for Rosenberg, Shalka O4 and in August 2019, Annan moved to Veikkausliiga, Finnish top flight side Inter Turku after leaving Beitar Jerusalem as a free agent to make a return back to the Finnish league after playing 111 league matches for HJK Helsinki in the past.
