WORLD NEWS: Eden Hazard set for stunning return to EPL

Chelsea have reportedly been approached by Real Madrid star Eden Hazard’s representatives regarding a stunning return to Stamford Bridge.

Per Spanish publication AS, the Blues have been offered the 30-year-old, who has endured a difficult time of things since joining the La Liga giants in a €100 million (R1.7 billion) deal two years ago.

Hazard was unveiled to thousands of screaming Real fans in July 2019, with club president Florentino Perez believing the Belgium star to be an ideal footballer to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo, who had left to join Juventus in the previous season.

However, the former Chelsea star has struggled to live up to expectations since as he suffered a series of muscle injuries, leaving him with just five goals across all competitions in the previous two campaigns combined for Los Blancos.

The Chelsea hierarchy is said to be interested in bringing Hazard back to London after his successful first spell with the Blues, during which he scored 110 goals and provided 92 assists in 352 appearances, while manager Thomas Tuchel would be keen on a player of his quality, although a winger is not his top priority in this window.

If transfer negotiations were to progress, however, Real would reportedly need to lower their price of £52 million (R1 billion) for the player, and Hazard would need to accept lower wages than his current reported weekly salary of £416 000 (R8.3 million).
