AFRICA NEWS: Akwa United wins Nigeria Premier League
Akwa United have been crowned winners of the 2020/21 Nigerian Professional Football League following their 5-2 win over MFM FC on Sunday.
A hat-trick from Charles Atshimene and a goal from Mfon Udoh were enough to secure an unprecedented league title for the Akwa-based club.
Akwa United are now the champions of Nigeria for the very first time in the club’s history since 1995.
