FNB Stadium atmosphere scared me”- Honest Fatawu Mohammed reveals
Hearts of Oak defender Fatawu Mohammed has admitted he became frightened when he saw the large nature of the FNB Stadium during Monday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash with South Africa.
The 29-year-old earned his Ghana debut when he lasted the entire period of the FNB Stadium for the Black Stars.
Maritzburg United center-forward Bongokuhle Hlongwane connected home scrappy finish 6 minutes from the end of the game as the Bafana Bafana sealed a 1-0 win over the Black Stars.
Speaking to the media in a post-match reaction the Hearts defender admitted he was scared by the large nature of the FNB Stadium pitch.
Honestly, I got a bit scared when I saw the FNB Stadium because the pitch is very very huge and it wouldn’t have been easy with supporters in the stands. Because the moment you enter the stadium you realise that indeed you are in a stadium, he told Asempa Fm in an interview.
