CAF Women’s Champions League: Kenya’s Vihiga Queens secure ticket after wining Cecafa zone
Kenyan Women’s Football Club, Vihiga Queens have been crowned champions of the Cecafa qualifying tournament for the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League.
A stoppage time penalty helped the Kenyan champions edge Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) 2-1 on Thursday afternoon at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani, Kenya.
The result means Vihiga Queens have punched their place in Egypt later this year for the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League.
They will join seven other teams from the other five Cayf zones including’s WAFU zone B champions Sekondi Hasacaas Ladies to compete for the ultimate in Cairo, Egypt.
