2021/22 GPL: GoldStars forward Kwabena Owusu sets ambitious 21-goal target

Bibiani GoldStars striker, Prince Kwabena Owusu has set himself a target of double figures for goals in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign.

The 23-year-old was the top scorer for his side as they gained promotion from the Division One League (DOL) last season. He bagged 18 goals in Zone Two of the second-tier league.

Going into his debut season in the Ghanaian topflight, Kwabena Owusu aims to emerge as the top scorer of the league by improving his previous season’s tally with three more goals.

“My target is to win the goal king in the Ghana Premier League.

“I have targeted 21 goals; I will pray and work hard so that God will help me achieve it,” he said in an interview with 3Sports.

Kwabena Owusu already knows the challenge that comes with playing in the GPL as compared to the DOL.

“I’m not coming to sleep in the Ghana Premier League because it is different from the Division One League so I need to work hard and achieve my target.”

Debutants Bibiani GoldStars start the season at home to Berekum Chelsea on Sunday, October 31.
