BREAKING: Gerrard is EPL club’s new boss

It has officially been confirmed that former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has been appointed as the new manager of a Premier League club.

Reds legend Gerrard has been confirmed as the new head coach of English top-flight side Aston Villa, with a contract reportedly lasting until June 2024.

The 41-year-old has left his position as Rangers boss to replace the axed Dean Smith at Villa Park after guiding the Glasgow giants to the Scottish Premiership title last season, their first league crown since the 2010/11 campaign.

According to The Telegraph, Rangers will receive about £3 million (R62 million) in compensation from Villa for Gerrard’s signature.

The former Liverpool captain has since revealed why he chose to move to the Premier League side.
