2022 WCQ: Caf to decide on format of playoffs for African qualifiers next week

The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has set November 25, 2021, to decide on the format of the playoffs of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

According to report available to Domesticsportsgh.com, Caf will decide between maintaining the original home and away format or going for a one-game decider at a neutral venue.

Fifa has already announced yesterday the intercontinental playoffs between the AFC, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, and the OFC will be one-legged and played at neutral grounds.0

The format for the African qualifiers will be decided at Caf’s Executive Committee Meeting to be held Thursday, November 25, 2021.

The 10 teams that will be competing in the playoffs have already been decided after the final group games were played last week.

The dates for the playoffs will also be confirmed at the meeting next week.
