2021 Afcon: Cameroon ninety-nine percent ready to host tournament – Motsepe

The president of the Confederation of African Football (Caf says Cameroon is ninety-nine percent (99%) ready to host the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in January 2022.

Patrice Motsepe made this known at Caf’s 13th Extraordinary General Assembly Friday in Egypt.

The South African is making this statement days after it was reported, the Japoma Omnisport Stadium that is expected to host the opening game is not ready.

“Cameroon ninety-nine percent ready to host the tournament,” he said. “The passion I saw in Cameroon about Afcon. I have never seen it before.

“I am confident that we are going to have a wonderful Afcon in Cameroon in January,” Motsepe reiterated.

The latest comments from Patrice Motsepe should put an end to the speculations about Cameroon’s readiness to host the tournament.

The 33rd edition of the premiere national football tournament in Africa will be played from January 9 to February 6, 2022, in Cameroon.
