Kumasi Asante Kotoko sits top of the 2021/22 GPL season, winning four out of the four games played and visits a venue that had been a fortress for many teams including Asante Kotoko themselves for some years before that virginity was broken by the Porcupine Warriors in the 2020-2021 domestic season.
Karela United sits at ninth position with four games played with five points. With a new coach, Bismark Kobi-Mensah, the young tactician and with some new faces in the team, losing their talisman and 2020/21 GPL top scorer, Diawisie Taylor to Egyptian PL side Future FC, Karela United’s performance hasn’t been that bad.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who also has got a new face on the sidelines, Professor Prosper Narteh Ogun and some new faces making up their playing body and some has already taken the GPL by storm, the youngster Isaac Oppong is one of the few. The 18-year old has scored three goals and assisted three in four GPL games which is an insane numbers for an inexperienced and young player.
The two clubs comes up again at the CAMP on Sunday, 28th November, 2021 which would be a key game for both teams. With the euphoria, expectations are always intense, we ask if it’s going to be a revenge or a repeat of what happened here the last time? Only time will tell.
