FC Samartex have played two league games this season, winning all and scoring 4 goals in the ongoing National Division One League Season. The aim of Wellington’s side this Weekend is to make it three league wins at Samreboi, also extending their overall winning run to four in a row, and to do that, they will have to come out on top in the first Crucial game of the season against Nzema Kotoko on Sunday.
The lunchtime kick-off will see the game played behind 25% lucky fans at the Samreboi Scot Park.
Speaking ahead of the game, Wellington said: “We have prepared as best we can. All our preparations are done now, so we’re ready for any situation that crops up. We’re in brilliant form – we’ve won our last two league games. We’re scoring as well so we’re very much looking forward to the game.
“It’ll be interesting without the energy of the fans and interesting to see the intensity and the tempo of the game. Both teams are capable of producing some very good football. We’re at home and it’s important that we consolidate our home form.
“I think it will be physical, I think it will be fast, just like any other match, but I think it’s sprinkled with a lot of quality players.
The Timber giants have won their last two league games against Asokwa Deportivo and Basake Holy Stars.
Coach Henry Wellington parted ways with Nzema kotoko to join Samartex on an undisclosed deal, and he’s set to face his former employers on Sunday in the week three of the National Division One League.
