The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has rejected JS Saoura’s request to have spectators at their home game against Hearts of Oak.
It means the Algerian side will play the Ghana champions behind closed doors in the second leg of their Caf Confederation Cup playoffs clash at the Stade 20 Août 1955 Béchar on Sunday, December 5.
JS Saoura president Mohamed Zerouati says he’s “amazed and shocked” at Caf’s decision.
“I’m amazed and shocked by Caf’s decision to not authorize the presence of fans.
“We submitted a demand to Caf to let our fans watch this very important match but it was rejected, even though our stadium is approved by Caf for African competitions.”
