Karela United host the defending champions of the Ghana Premier League at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in week 14.
Hearts Of Oak, having not started the 2021/22 campaign well, suffering some defeats has managed to put themselves up in recent games, picking necessary points and will lock horns with one of the stubborn side in Ghana’s top tier football, Karela United on Saturday, January 22,2022.
Karela United also having had problems in the start of the season especially in terms of goals, losing their leading marksman, Diawisie Taylor.
Having had good numbers in their recent GPL campaign, we can’t say same for Bismarck Kobi Mensah’s men this season.
The visitors sits sixth on the league table with 20 points and the host on 10th position with 17 points.
But the head to head between the two teams gives the host an advantage over the current GPL holders, with six competitive games played between them, Karela United has two wins and Hearts Of Oak has a win which came in the NC Special Cup competition, and three of them ending in a draw. Hearts are yet to win a game at Karela United’s home ground.
Karela United are coming into this game having played very well and beating one of the high flying teams in this year’s campaign, King Faisal in their own backyard which ended 2-0 and Hearts Of Oak are also coming in having won convincingly against Eleven Wonders which ended 4-1.
