Man of the Match winner, Umar Bashiru has said, his side was determined and focus on breaking the jinx surrounding their games at Sogakope, against WAFA in the matchday 17 of the Ghana Premier League at the Red Bull Arena.
Karela United defeated WAFA 1-0, their first win at Sogakope since the Passioners joined the top flight in 2017.
Speaking in a post match interview, Umar Bashiru who was adjudged the Player of the Match said, they adhered strictly to their game plan, coupled with their determination and focus, they were able to beat them in their own backyard.
” Over the years, Karela has never beaten WAFA in Sogokope and I’m excited we broke the jinx today, I believed the team work, determination was the key to this feat”.
The attacking midfielder has scored 7 goals and adjudged man of the match awards on 5 occasions.
