Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education has announced appointing Rigobert Song as the country’s new head coach.
In a statement on Monday, it said the order to appoint the former Indomitable Lions player as coach is from President Paul Biya.
The 45-year-old takes over from António Conceição who has been in charge since 2019.

The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) is invited to take the necessary measures, as far as it is concerned, for a harmonious and rapid implementation of these Very High Directives, in order to allow the Indomitable Lions to face, in the best conditions possible, important future sporting events.
The two-time Africa Cup of Nations winner arrives weeks away from Cameroon’s 2022 World Cup qualifying playoff games against Algeria.
The five-time African champions will host Djamal Belmadi’s side on March 24 before playing the 2019 Afcon champions three days later in Bilda in the reverse fixture.
