Ghanaian league players are undoubtedly one of the African league players that earn below $1,000 per month despite the highly competitive nature of the league.
Currently, the Ghana Premier League has no sponsor don’t even think of the Division One.
Sadly, the second highest league in Ghana, “Division One League” has almost 75% of the clubs( players/ coaches) not receiving salary at all not to mention their technical team.
Domesticsportsgh.com statistics show that even clubs in the Western, Central and Ashanti Region of the zone two are richer than those in the other zones, which explains why many of those coaches and players playing in the Division One League zone two are earning a great fortune even in the lowest team.
In this article we are going to reveal the top 5 highest paid teams in the Division One League Zone two, which consist of 16 clubs from Ashanti, Western and Central Region.
1.SAMARTEX
They are no doubt the highest paid team in the Division One League zone 2 because of their recent partnerships and sponsorships, no wonder they are leading the log with 34 points after 15 games.
The club is owned and managed by Samartex Company Limited.
The have a huge monthly expenditure of (over) Ghc 50,000 and pay their players higher than any other clubs in the Zone, per our checks.
Their players monthly salaries range between Ghc 1,000 to Ghc 500.00.
Their head coach Henry Wellington is currently the second highest paid coach with the monthly salary of Ghc 3,000 and lastly their technical and management team are the most paid ahead of all 15 clubs.
Samartex receives highest bonuses than any team.
2.EBUSUA DWARFS
Arguably the biggest team in the Zone, having had much experience in the Ghana’s top flight. The “Crabs” as they are popularly called, are doing their best to return to the top flight after being relegated last year.
Per our checks, players are being paid same amount as in the Premiership, though it’s not consistent payment due to their bad financial status, Dennis Korsah was the club highest paid player before his move to GPL giants Hearts of Oak.
Ghc 1,000 has been captured as the highest and 400.00 as lowest per our close source.
Smith is paid Ghc 4,000 as head coach with some other senior players pocketing Ghc 1000.00 and average players salary stands at Ghc 300.00.

The Ampain-based club is part of the few clubs doing very well in the ongoing season, third on the league log with 30 points after Edubiase and Samartex.
Hard talking coach, Seth Hoffman is in our list as the third highest paid coach after Henry Wellington and Johnson Smith.
According to their recent financial statement, the former Hearts of Oak coach takes home Ghc 3,000 but has a lowest bonuses compared to Henry Wellington.
Maxwell Kofi Kumadoh (Ghc 800.00) was the highest paid player at the club after the first round of the season.
Most of the senior players are taking home Ghc 500.00 with lowest paid players earning 300.00.
Traditionally, the club is owned by the seat of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council, chaired by Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III.
Ghana Gas and Adamus Resources Limited are the main sponsors of the Ampain-based club.
5.BASAKE HOLY STARS
The newly promoted Division One side’s financial statement has been captured in our list.
Former Kotoko, Medeama and Karela United Star, Emmanuel Kwame Boateng was the club’s highest paid player after the first round of the season.
The experienced attacker was paid Ghc 1,000.00 a month whiles his head coach who doubles as the technical director, Evans Augustine Adotey was earning Ghc 2,500.00.
Their less-paid players are taking home Ghc 300.00.
The club has no financial backing compared to other teams. The Unbeatable side, based in Basake in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region is owned by the Western Regional Football Association President Hon, Simon Ehomah, an immigration commissioner by profession
