2022 WCQ: Massive blow for Nigeria as COVID-19 rules Super Eagles number one out of Ghana clash

Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been ruled out of the Super Eagles’ crucial World Cup against Ghana, hitting a big blow in Nigeria’s plans for the double-header.

According to Sulaiman Folarin, top BBC and talkSPORT journalist, Okoye tested positive for COVID-19 just before he departed from the Netherlands and was not allowed to board the flight to Abuja.

Ghana host Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup penultimate playoff clash on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium and second leg March, 29th in Abuja.
