2022 WCQ: Black Stars touch down in Abuja ahead of Nigeria clash

The Black Stars of Ghana have safely arrived in Abuja ahead of the crucial World Cup reverse fixture against Nigeria on Tuesday.

Nigeria will play host to Ghana at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium after a 0-0 draw in the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium last Friday.

The Ghana contingent touched down at the Abuja International Airport at around 13:30 GMT and will move to their hotel to have some rest.

The team is expected to train at 17:00 GMT at the Moshood Abiola Stadium as stipulated by CAF and FIFA before the game on Tuesday.

Nigeria are in search of their 7th World Cup qualification whereas Ghana chase their 4th qualification to the mundial after missing out in Russia 2018.

The last time the Black Stars visited Nigeria in World Cup qualifications was in July 2001 where they suffered a 3-0 thrashing to the Super Eagles.

Felix Afena Gyan who picked up a knock in the first leg has been declared for the return fixture

FC St. Pauli star Daniel-Kofi Kyereh who picked up a knock before Friday’s match has fully recovered and is line for a starting place on Tuesday evening.
