Karela United prodigy, Stephen Akani made his debut appearance in the Ghana Premier League in matchday 23 against Elmina Sharks on Sunday afternoon.
The Passioners however, won 3-1 over the Fearsome Sharks at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinasi.
A 9th minute strike from Michael Asamoah gave the visitors the lead but was cancelled out by Emmanuel Dagadu on the 15th minute.
Former Bechem United winger, Emmanuel Owusu Boakye gave the Pride and Passions the lead on the 30th minute after been laid through by Umar Bashiru before he dribbled pass goalkeeper Joseph Essam.
Emmanuel Dagadu shot home Karela’s third after connecting Kelvin Andoh’s incisive cross on the 56th minute.
Stephen Akani was registered by the Aiyinasi based outfits in the second round after coach Bismark Kobi-Mensah saw his development in the youth team.
The 16-year old was named on the bench as Kobi-Mensah opted for a duo of Matthew Kelvin Andoh and Emmanuel Dagadu upfront.
The youngster was introduced in the 67th minute for Owusu Boakye.
Karela United are currently sitting on the 7th position after 23 matches in the 2021-22 season.
