Daboase based Division One League club, Skyy FC have been hit with a seven-match ban and a fine of Ghana Cedis six thousand (GHc 6000) after been found guilty for breaching Article 16(1(c),Article 16(1)(e),Article, 16(2)(b) and Article 16(2)(f) of the GFA Disciplinary code,2019 in their match-day 20 fixture with zone II league leaders, Samartex FC which ended 1:1.
Skyy FC failed to ensure the safety of the visiting team Samartex FC, as supporters of the Home team were seen throwing sand and water at the Officials of the Away team while they were still in their bus. Also supporters of Skyy FC physically assaulted and injured an official Mr. Paul Anyaba of the Away team.
The Eagles of Wassa pleaded not guilty to the charges and they stated that they ensured that adequate security is provided at the Match Venue and ensured the safety of the away team.
Per evidence adduced from the Referee’s report and video recording of the match, Skyy FC is found guilty of the charge by the committee and will face two sanctions. They are fine six thousand Ghana cedis (GHc 6000) and the GFA shall give Samartex an amount of two thousand Ghana cedis (GHc 2000) to cater for the hospital expenses of the injured officials and the broken windows of team bus.
The team has also been banned from playing seven home matches at the St. Martin Park in Daboase. The club and his supporters are warned that any future misconduct shall receive a more severe punishment.
