SWAP DEAL: Kotoko to swap Keyekeh for Karela’s Umar Bashiru

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League Champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has targeted Karela United in-form midfielder Umar Bashiru ahead of their African Champions League campaign.

According to the former Club’s Director of Communications, Obed Acheampong of Silver FM, Bashiru is now wanted by Asante Kotoko.

According to close source, the club is interested to secure a swap deal that would see Emmanuel Keyekeh back to Karela United and Umar Bashiru heads in the opposite direction to Asante Kotoko.

Umar Bashiru joined Karela United from Asante Kotoko on a mutual consent and was an integral member of CK Akonnor’s side that reached the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The former WAFA graduate has impressively made 32 appearances for the Aiyinase-based club this season and has scored 14 goals with 5 assists as a midfielder.

Emmanuel Keyekeh who was poster boy at Aiyinase joined Kotoko from Karela United in 2020 but has struggled due to various injuries and has failed to impressed the Porcupine Warriors.
