DOMESTIC TRANSFERS: Samartex announce signing of former Eleven Wonders attacker

Ghanaian winger Abass Ganiu has switched camps to “The Timber Giants” after his recent departure from the Sure Wonders.

The 24-year old attacker has joined the Premier League newboys Samartex 1996 on a two-year contract, weeks after his sensational exit from Techiman Eleven Wonders.

The Samreboi-based club announced his acquisition on Tuesday.

Ganiu was linked to Aduana Stars, he parted ways with Wonders last month following the club’s demotion to the second-tier league.

Abass was a key cog of Eleven Wonders since joining them two seasons ago. He was one of the standout players in the second phase of the 2020/21 season, scored seven goals in 14 games.

Last season he netted nine goals in 22 outings but wasn’t enough as Eleven Wonders suffered relegation.

Samartex will start the season with a trip to Tamale to play Real Tamale United.
