Ghanaian Kodwo Asamoah retires from football at age 33

Former Udinese, Juventus and Ghana midfielder Kodwo Asamoah has retired from playing and he is set to begin another career as a football agent and he is already in touch with Italian intermediary Federico Pastorella.

The 33-year old has not played since his contract at Italian side Cagliari came to an end after the 2020-21 season.

He moved to Cagliari following his release by Inter Milan after two years due to injuries in 2020.

The Versatile star played 279 times at club level with Udinese, Juventus, Inter Milan and Cagliari.

On International level he featured 74 matches for the Black Stars in 2008 to 2019.

He won Six Seria A, four Coppa Italia, three Supercoppa Italia, two times runners up of the UEFA Champions League, a runner up of the UEFA Europa League and two times runners up of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Kodwo is a predominantly left footed player, with Juventus, he was usually deployed as a full back,wing-back or wide midfielder on the flank, although he has previously been used in the centre as a defensive, central box-to- box or an offensive midfielder prior to joining the club and even in the mezzala role.
