Ghanaian midfielder, Umar Bashiru has opened his goal account for the Medhin’s on Friday afternoon when they thumped Legetago Legedadi 4-1 in the ongoing Ethiopian Premier League.
The Black Stars B midfielder joined the Addis Ababa giants earlier this week after displaying an outstanding form in the Ghana Premier League whiles playing for Karela United.
Making his debut this afternoon, Umar Bashiru started from where he ended in the Ghana Premier League last season with the Passioners with yet another sumptuous display with his new outfits.
Habib Kermal opened the scoring in the 9th minute before the Ghanaian doubled the lead fourteen minutes later.
Bashiru combined well with Shewalem Habtamu on a a give-and-go to get behind the Legetago Legedadi defense before calmly slotting the ball home.
Kirubel Wondimu scored from the spot on the 49th minute to reduce the deficit.
Habtamu Shewalem scored from a penalty on the 75th minute whiles Geberemariam Eyob scored on the 90th minute to make it 4-1 for Ethiopian Insurance.
Amir Mudesir was brought on the 82nd minute to replace Umar Bashiru.
The Ex- Asante Kotoko and WAFA midfielder scored 15 goals in 33 appearances for Karela United in the 2021-22 season.
