PHOTOS: Karela United players beaten by fans of Berekum Chelsea

Eight players of Karela United including police officer were brutally beaten by fans of Berekum Chelsea during the Ghana Premier League game involving the two sides in Berekum.

Berekum Chelsea, the home team won by a lone goal.

Reports at the Berekum Golden City Park indicates that, home fans invaded the pitch and vent their spleens on the officials and the away team during the game when the score line was goalless.

The players were hit with stones and attacked after the game resulting in the injury of three players and one police officer named Inspector Baah Yakubu of Berekum divisional police command.

” What happened today at Berekum wasn’t easy at all. Before, during and after the match, we played with fear no wonder they score us within the 7 minutes regulation time”.

Some management officials phones were also sized and destroyed as a result of the struggling according to West End Radio, reporter who was with the team after the game.

” Infact what happened here was sad, I think the Ghana Fa will do something about it, because the barbaric acts is becoming increasing in our league centres, Sad to see midfielder Joseph Dinku beating like a thief ” DJ Apaka told Domesticsportsgh.com.

The barbaric incident is a about the first incident that has been recorded in the 2022-23 Betpawa Ghana Premier League.
