Former Asante Kotoko captain, Abdul Ismail Ganiu has revealed why he left the club in 2021.
According to him, it was to satisfy his thirst for a new challenge after spending several years in Kumasi.
“I wanted to face a new challenge but I don’t have a problem with Asante Kotoko. I just want to move on to a new challenge. I never had a problem with Kotoko,” Ganui told the press.
” There’s no truth about whatever they said concerning my departure. I don’t have a problem with the club but they should forgive me because of how I left.”
The former Karela United defender left Asante Kotoko at the end of the 2020/2021 football season.
Since then, the defender has played for clubs including Al-Talaba, TP Mazembe, and Baba Boys.
