Tamale City put in an impressive performance to hold the defending champions, Asante Kotoko to a 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors scored first through youngster Rocky Dwanema in the 36th minute. He launched a thunderous strike which flew past City’s goalkeeper Tijani Cissé.
The Citizens got the equalizer through Mohammed Yahaya after taking advantage of a defensive mistake by Kotoko in the 40th minute.
Kotoko are 6th position on the league table with 43 points while their opponents, Tamale City, are back in the relegation zone despite the draw.
