Johnson Smith impressed with hunger and desire in Holy Stars victory

Nations FC head coach Johnson Smith was overjoyed with his team tenacity, enthusiasm and determination to secure a vital 1-0 Division One League victory over struggling Basake Holy Stars earlier on Tuesday.

Amidou Diarro opened the scoring on the 7th minutes to secured the vital victory for the visitors.

Nations FC have taken a seven points lead at the table in the ongoing 2022/23 Division One League Zone Two competition.

Johnson Smith who has been crucial in the Nations current development was happy and shared his excitement after the game with Domesticsportsgh.com.

“I wouldn’t say it was total control. We have to give them a lot of respect and credit,” he said.

“We didn’t play our football as we normally do, we had man to man pressure and it was very difficult to play our usual passes. We tried to counter that by going more direct and that gave us victory”.

“I’m delighted with the desire and how clinical and discipline we were today, he added.

Nations FC are comfortably leading the summit with 57 points after 25 games and are looking forward to make it to the Ghana Premier League for the very first time.
