The Black Stars of Ghana are likely to host minnows Central Africa Republic at either the Cape Coast Sports Stadium or the Baba Yara Sports Stadium following the approval of both facilities by the confederation of African Football, CAF.

Football fans all throughout the nation have reacted to this news with a lot of joy.

Both stadiums have satisfied the relevant FIFA/CAF requirements, making them viable locations for the qualification game.

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with a capacity of 40,000, is situated in Kumasi, the Ashanti region’s capital city.

On the other side, the Cape Coast Stadium, which has a capacity of 15,000, is located in the coastal city of Cape Coast.

With eight points from four games, Ghana currently leads Group E of the AFCON qualifications for 2023.

The Black Stars’ most recent game was a tense 1-1 tie with Angola in Luanda, which came after a narrow victory in the previous qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The team’s following game is on June 18 against Madagascar. On September 4, they play at home against the Central African Republic.

Whether Ghana qualifies for the 2023 AFCON tournament or not depends depend on the results of these two remaining games.

They will be guaranteed a spot in the renowned competition if they win any of these games.

With four African Cup of Nations victories, Ghana has a long history in the continent’s football.
