Alhaji Akambi slams Hearts of Oak players after Medeama’s annihilation

Executive board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Akambi has hit out at the players of the team after their disappointing performance in the game against Medeama SC.

The 20-times Ghana Premier League champions in matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday failed to glitter in front of their home fans at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The team suffered a 5-1 defeat to the Yellow and Mauve outfit and has now dropped out of the top four.

In an interview with Kumasi based Oyerepa FM, Alhaji Akambi admitted that the players of Hearts of Oak failed to leave up to expectations, with a shambolic display against the Western Region based club.

“I still can’t believe it and couldn’t believe it…As a board member, we have done everything needed of us and we are still doing everything the team needs”.

“The players didn’t do well. I don’t know what happened but this is not how they play. To be honest with you, they did not play well,” Alhaji Akambi said frankly.

After the defeat on Sunday, Hearts of Oak have now dropped to 6th on the Ghana Premier League table with 45 points after 31 games.
