AFCON 2023: Super Eagles of Nigeria to report for camp by January 1

An agreement has been struck for European teams to release Super Eagles players for the AFCON by January 1, 2024, according to the Super Eagles management team.

This follows reports that the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations provisional squad for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, coached by Jose Peseiro, was leaked to the media.

The goalkeepers Stanley Nwabili, Christian Nwoke, and Alhassan Yusuf are among the recent additions to the squad.

Along with the hosts, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria is placed in Group A.

On January 14, the three-time winners will play their first game at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, against Equatorial Guinea.
