Tanzania look set to part ways with head coach Adel Amrouche after his controversial statements made ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

The Algerian coach spoke to media in his homeland stating that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation controls the Confederation of African Football and match officials.

TFF quickly distanced themselves from that stance last week stating it’s solely the opinion of the coach and CAF has since slapped an eight-match ban on the former Botswana and Kenya head coach along with a $10,000 fine.

The TFF have also confirmed he’s suspended and replaced by assistant Hemed Morocco on an interim basis, just one game into the AFCON campaign in which they lost 1-0 to the Atlas Lions in San Pedro earlier this week.
