Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton, has provided an update regarding the injury of midfielder Majeed Ashimeru ahead of the Black Stars’ crucial group B game against Mozambique on Monday.
The Anderlecht playmaker was subbed off in the 67th minute of the game after picking an injury against Egypt.
Majeed Ashimeru, an attacking midfielder with immense qualities has caught the attention of his country with his exploits in the national team activities at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
” Currently the injury not all that serious, likely to train this evening but we will continue to assess him to ascertain his match readiness for the game tomorrow. We are highly optimistic of his availability”. Chris stated at his pre match conference today.
The 26-year-old Anderlecht midfielder has flourished at the middle of Ghana team and his powerful surging forwards through the middle of the pitch will be needed to crush Mambas of Mozambique.
Ghana face Mozambique in a crucial Group B match on Monday at the Stade Alassane Quattara in Ebimbe, Abidjan at 8pm.
