The Municipal Youth Parliament of the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira ( MYP) has scheduled a demonstration for Saturday July 6, 2024.
According to a press release signed by the Speaker of the Parliament, Jonas Kabutey, on July 6, they are staging the demonstration to show their intense dissatisfaction with the government’s intention to delay the completion of the stalled Axim Sports Complex.
” We are demonstrating against the government over the delayed Axim Sports Complex, We want to inform the government of our intention to embark on a joint peaceful and lawful demonstration on the delayed Axim Sports Complex and devastated Brawie town roads which is given the residents numerous disease through dusts,” the speaker reacted to Asempa FM.
Last month, the Youth Parliament gave a notice that they were given the government two-months ultimatum to complete the facility.
They claimed the Ministry of Youth and Sports has yet to respond to their petition for a meeting since May 2024.
The demonstration will start at the forcourt of Brawie Community Centre through to municipal street leading to Axim Vocational Training School and concluded at the uncompleted Axim Sports Complex in Bimish.
