Who dares to question Coach Ogum – Enock Morrison

Former Asante Kotoko player Enock Morrison has refuted claims that he was indisciplined and problematic.

In the aftermath of the termination of his contract by Kotoko, rumors circulated of him being stubborn, often opposing head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, as a reason for the club letting him go.

The 24-year-old, however, insisted he never in any way was indiscplined or problematic, contrary to reports.

He cites the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League matchday 32 game against Great Olympics as an example when he made a suggestion to Coach Ogum, which was completely shot down.

“If the coach presents tactics, who are you to go against them?” Because he will be judged by how well he does. He would be blamed if the team lost or praised if the team won. We are just players on the field to do what we have to do. Who are you to question the coach?” he asserted.

“In the game against Olympics, I was drawn out of position, which forced our defenders wide because I was supposed to sit in front of the defense, so not being in my position gives the opponent’s striker possession of the ball.

So I approached the coach after realizing this and proposed how to counter it. He [Ogum] then called the rest of the players to tell them what I proposed, but not all agreed, so we went with the coach’s tactics and lost the match,” he continued.

The Hearts of Oak target insisted he only suggested what he thought could’ve helped the team.
