Morocco handed a 2-1 shock defeat to Argentina in the first game at the Paris Olympic Games in Etienne on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 24, 2022.

What appeared to be a late equalizer by the Argentines through Cristian Medina was ruled out by VAR, which caused massive unrest in the stands.

The Atlas Lions’ were 2-0 up courtesy of a Soufiane Rahimi brace before it was halved by the son of former Argentina player Giuliano Simeoni.

Argentina will have to need good results over Iraq and Ukraine in order to avoid a shock early exit from the Olympics.
